As a sports-engineer Martin Harnisch has good knowledge in sport and technology. Writing his thesis about shoe climate in running shoes he got in touch with Clothing Physiology. Since 2007 he is managing research projects with a focus on sports textiles and physiology at Hohenstein Institute.

Function in functional clothing for sports textiles is achieved by beneficial thermophysiological properties. In combination with good skin sensorial properties this good heat and moisture management leads to good wear comfort. Objective laboratory measurements offered by Hohenstein can help manufacturers during development and related quality labels make sale easier.
