Product Integrity – A Review
of Standards and Strategies to Support Sustainability Claims for Fibers
A company’s greatest asset is its reputation, whether it is selling to
consumers or other businesses. Hence it is critical to take the necessary steps
to be protected against legal and brand risk when making sustainability claims. Companies are working hard to
do the right thing, and consumers are trying to understand the impact of what
they are buying, and there is a range of standards and verification schemes to
support these efforts. In this session we will give an overview of the main
verification strategies that back up product claims for textiles, gain insight
into different certification systems and standards and learn the steps a
company should follow when it decides to go for certification.
